The Journey

I am back in the doula world after a rather long hiatus!

I became a doula in 2012 and absolutely adored the experience of helping woman achieve a beautiful birth but unfortunately I burned myself out second guessing myself and trying to be the right person for EVERY person. I had decided to walk away from my passion instead of just going on a hiatus after my 4th child was born. My 4th pregnancy was hard and my health continued to be a struggle after she was born.12795076_10102482775624719_1664374108478519979_o

Late one night as I contemplated the upcoming labor of a family member and how I wanted to help make sure she was well taken care of at that time God let me know he loved all his daughters in the same way I loved this family member. It has been made clear to me on numerous occasions since then, that my work in the birth world was not done. I truly believe that God knows who needs me at their birth and he will bring them to me.

Moving forward with faith I plan to work on better listening to and trusting my own intuition. This will allow me to more confidently provide the service that each of my wonderful clients needs.

Baby 4!

The difference is that the first was born at 38 weeks gestation and the second was born 1 day shy of 42 weeks! Crazy how unique each… Continue Reading

Alignment and Fetal Positioning

Did you know that the number one reason for a cesarean section is fetal malpresentation? I spend a lot of time at a good percentage of the births I attend trying to get posterior babies to turn around for an easier birth. It is for this reason that I wish I could require all my… Continue Reading

Welcome Baby, Rylee!

Sometimes I attend a birth that just really reminds me how strong a women in labor is. This birth was beautiful and I think my favorite part was watching the beautiful bond she had with her mother. They found the ritual that worked for her together and it was priceless. Mothering the mother is so… Continue Reading
